I would suggest you uninstall Norton temporarily choosing to Save Settings but DON'T except the offer of the stand-alone ID Safe, download and run the MCPR.exe as an Administrator, download and run the Norton Removal Tool, restart, download a fresh copy of NIS from, run Live Update, restarting where required, until no more updates are available. Please export a copy of your ID Safe if you use that feature. When I click on it I am taken to a list of programs - Word etc., none of them McAfee so can't run it. The 2nd time I get a folder MCPR.exe but it is grey. I have to have 2 goes at downloading MCPR as the 1st try is refused or partial downloaded.
