I agree and think most of the film is based on karma which is a huge thing in thai culture. possibly it was a way to trick nim that ba yan is entering ming's body so that she will give in and allow ming to perform the acceptance ritual without knowing what is actually entering ming's body which she eventually did and allowed multiple demons to enter ming's body However post-sign and symptoms of possession (bleeding, cramps etc) were similar to the shaman fever.
I doubt that those men were her ancestors as they look like regular men, her unusual behaviour (sleeping with different men, occasional drinking, talking to herself etc) was a sign that she was about to be possessed with an entity or an entity of some sort was entering her She might not know about it as she was possessed (until the cctv footage was shown) even so, she still seems to be confused because of the family's history of being a shaman (shaman fever)
How i would interpret that scene was that she was possessed to have sex with different men hence why she experienced alot of cramping and extra+++ bleeding (possible sign of miscarriage) even a heavy period flow would not look like that. On your point, it might be that Nim was trying to find the items that was causing the issues too that’s why she laid all the weird items all and kept going around them and absorbing their aura with the egg before praying and checking to see if it is and the black egg might have shown that a particular item might have been the cause (Dk if you remember there’s this small prominent statue head that seem to get its own close up in the room when they were searching for out of place items) and maybe from the identified item, it was postulated that the ancestors beheaded others, insurance factory fire, and all the bad stuff done by the past generations to lead her to the old family owned factory) Also a tragic end for Pong something I could never move on…… 😭😭😭!<īut if Santi performed the acceptance ceremony on Noi, why did she still have to die by Mings hand, should it mean that Noi is now the Bayan’s Shaman?Īnd it seems like Ming didn’t go through the acceptance ceremony but already had Bayan possessing her. We have a question too, anybody knows the significance of the red car? Santi was quite smug when he announced it.Īnd we couldn’t understand the reason >! her uncle and his family didn’t just run away, leaving the Mink and Noi knowing that Mink was a dangerous threat to Pong. Which may explain the reason why she acted up when her uncle’s friend called her a whore.Īlso mink’s possession was aggravated by the random acceptance ceremony that Noi and her uncle brought her to? That could explain the point of no return as she invited other spirits into her. The sexual scenes, we thought was just to show that the she had been the vehicle of the demon, and she’s been possessed just that no one was aware or bothered till her father’s funeral. Remember the sisters + mink all had the same symptoms? Heavy period etc.
It could be that Noi’s family (Nim and Panit) was cursed when she married into the Husband’s family. Which may explain her restless and helpless demeanour during the interview So we conclude that Nim could just merely be a vehicle of the greater demon who eventually made Nim part of the bigger plot to destroy Noi’s family. We postulate from her last interview that she didn’t believe her powers (as the medium for Ba Yan).
Later on Nim was found dead one day before the ceremony. She replied albeit weakly that she can only “feel” her presence. Ba Yan as the plot thickens was never something that Nim could attests. In any case back to your questions, we felt that mink was possessed by an evil spirit. Truth be told, it did bear some resemblance to the wailing. It was no doubt our best Asian horror in a long while!!!!! We watched the wailing a few weeks back, and didn’t read the fine print when we saw the medium’s poster. Omg I’ve been trying to find someone to discuss the plot!!! Like you, my husband and I had many questions too! We watched in Cinema in Singapore!
